Ten Canadian Women Writers to Read

Thursday is International Women's Day. Celebrated on March 8 each year, International Women's Day is marked around the world to commemorate achievements of women and to encourage respect towards women.

CBC Books is commemorating this annual event by celebrating the work of Canadian women writers that deserve another look. These 10 literary talents are new and established, from the East Coast and the West. They write about urban experiences and rural ones, of being young and in love, and old and widowed. What they all have in common, however, is that we think you should read them. And sooner, rather than later.
